THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Blue Ocean Technologies LLC has set multiple new industry records in subsea well intervention by successfully intervening in a subsea oil well in 4000 feet of water without a riser in the Gulf of Mexico.

Blue Ocean’s IRIS (interchangeable riserless intervention system) successfully completed numerous riserless wireline runs with 5/16” e-line and slick line respectively with pressures up to 8000 psi. A variety of intervention tools were deployed including a wireline tractor, milling tool and gauges

Dynamic wire sealing was enabled by a pressure head using Blue Ocean’s patented grease system.
